February Events: Fun Things to Do with Your Kids this Month

Here are some kid-friendly activities and events happening in the Bay Area this February. I'll update this list weekly to make sure I add in any last minute weekend events. I hope you find many fun things to do with your kids this month!

THIS WEEKEND: FEB 24th to 25th


Saturday, February 24th

  • Check out the magnolia blooms at the SF Botanical Gardens - Free for SF residents  

  • Treasurefest 11am to 5pm, happening 2/24 to 2/25 in Treasure Island, SF- $15 early bird tickets, $20 general admission adults, $5 for kids 5 to 17yr, free for kids 4 and under. There will be local food, music, art, kids activities and more.  Get tickets here.

  • Chinese New Year Parade in SF- Free and starts at 2nd and market at 5:15pm. This is the biggest Chinese New Year Parade outside of Asia! 

  • Paw Patrol Live! in San Jose -use code SJ25 Get tickets here.

  • Redwood City's Lunar New Year Celebration 11am to 4pm - get info here. Includes free admission to the San Mateo County History Museum.

  • Lunar New Year Celebration at The Crossings at East Cut (SF)- Sensory play pop-up by Oogubi 12pm to 2pm, Lion Dance 2pm, & Kung Fu Panda Movie screening  


Sunday, February 25th

  • Prancing Princess Pony event 11am to 12pm in Brentwood - horse rides, meet Princess Ariel from the Little Mermaid, sensory station and more. Limited tickets available.

  • Get your tickets to Oogubi Wonderland happening on 3/3 using promo code TODDLERSPLAY. They have POP-UP's* happening 2/24 & 2/25 (*These are not the same as Wonderland and my code will not work for pop-ups).

February 1

  • SFMoma- Free First Thursday for Bay Area Residents only. Reserve tickets HERE.


February 2

  • Free First Friday at the San Mateo County History Museum


February 3

  • Lunar New Year x Black History Month at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center 11am to 4pm, FREE- performances, local vendors, and a children’s zone . More Info HERE.

  • Lunar New Year Festival at History Park, San Jose 11am to 7pm. See event info here.

  • Free Home Depot in-store workshop for kids 9am to 12pm- takes place at multiple locations. It can get crowded so arrive early or take the craft with you and do it at home. More details HERE.

  • Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose's Lunar New Year celebration 9:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30p to 4:30p. See event info here.

  • Lunar New Year Celebration at the Children’s Museum Sonoma County 10am to 2pm.

  • Santa Clara County Library- Lunar New Year performances at all locations. See website for specific times for each location.

  • Many libraries are having free Lunar New Year performances, including San Carlos library and Belmont library, so be sure to check the calendar of events for your local library.

  • "Give Kids a Smile" SF's Free Children's Dental Health Fair - free community event hosted by volunteer dental students, faculty and staff from University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, 9am to 1pm, 155 5th St (btwn Minna & Howard) San Francisco- event details

  • "Mission Love Story" Valentine's Pop Up Shop FREE- 1pm to 6pm at Potrero del Sol park in SF. There will be a dj, vendors and a jumper for kids.


February 4th

  • Mini sensory theme park in SF. Oogubi Wonderland: Paris City of LOVE - must buy tickets in advance. Get 10% off with code toddlersplay. Will take place rain or shine. Read more about Oogubie events here.

  • Free Day at the Asian Art Museum– the Murakami exhibit ends February 12th 

  • Michaels Sunday Make Break- free in store kids craft workshop. Get more info here.

February 7th


February 9th 

  • King Tide expected- check tide schedule here. Best time for tide pooling is when the tide is very low ( in the negative numbers).

  • Lantern Parade at Napa Lighted Art Festival 6:30pm (This festival ends Feb 18th)

  • Santana Row Lunar New Year celebration 11am to 1pm - enjoy dances and cultural performances. Details here.

  • Los Altos Family Fun Day 10am to 1pm - free event that includes games, crafts, movies and more. See event details here. 

  • Hillsdale Shopping Center (San Mateo) Lunar New Year celebration 12p to 3pm. See info.

  • MoAD - free admission every 2nd Saturday. Family Art activity 12-2pm. More info here.

  • Mountain View's Lunar New Year Celebration at the MV Community Center 10am to 2pm

  • Super Bowl Pep Rally and Music + Light Show at 7pm on 752 Valota Road, Redwood City.

  • Lunar New Year Celebration at Jack London Square, Oakland 1pm to 3pm

  • Disney on Ice at the SAP Center in San Jose 2/7 - 2/12


February 11th

  • Kid-friendly SuperBowl watch party sensory play pop-up by Oogubi at 3:30pm at the Crossing at East Cut (SF) - get tickets HERE.

  • Lunar New Year Celebration at Golden Gate Park in SF from 11am to 2pm- more details here.

  • SF Zoo 's "Woo at the Zoo" Valentine's Brunch 10:30am to 12pm - see info here

  • Mardi Gras for Kids with crafts and music by Andy Z @ 12pm - Redwood City Downtown library

  • SF's Asian Art Museum Free day- last chance to see the Takashi Murakami exhibit ending 2/12.

  • Disney on Ice at the SAP Center in San Jose 2/7 - 2/12


February 14th 

  • Valentine’s Day! 


February 17th

  • Westfield Valley Fair family friendly Lunar new year performances, fun activities and more from 1pm to 5pm. See schedule of events here.

  • Stanford Shopping Center (Palo Alto) Lunar New Year celebration at 2pm in the Center Pavilion

  • Storytime at Magical Bridge Playground in Redwood City 10am, every fourth Tuesday


February 27th

  • Children's Day at the Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek 10am to 2pm. There will be crafts, vendors, games and more. Children will receive FREE garden admission.
